چکیده مقاله
CaO-based materials have been recognized as hopeful sorbents for highly efficient pre- and post-combustion CO2 capture in fluidized beds operated at high temperatures known as Calcium Looping (CaL) process. Nevertheless, CaO sorbent suffers from reduction in sorption activity mainly due to the sintering. The present study is focused on the development of a novel tri-metallic synthetic sorbent via sol-gel auto-combustion method by incorporating ZrO2, Al2O3 and CeO2 during preparation of CaO sorbent. The effects of different calcium precursors and molar ratios of calcium precursor to promoters were also investigated. The formation of inert oxides during the preparation of the tri-metallic sorbent promoted the multicycle capture capacity significantly. The sorbent prepared from soluble calcium nitrate precursor exhibited a more stable capture capacity at both mild and realistic conditions during the mutli-cycles. Additionally the molar ratio of 20:1 (calcium precursor:promoters) was obtained as the most appropriate compared to 15:1 and 30:1 during 18 realistic carbonation/calcination cycles.
